Melita was born in Atlanta, and enjoys "reading a good book". She lives in nearby Lithonia, and enjoys Saturdays with her four beautiful children.

Why she does this:   "I remember telling my parents, "When I grow up I am going to take care of animals." I enjoy working here because the atmosphere is always pleasant. My co-workers are family away from my own family.".

Robert McAdams

Rob and his wife, Wanda, have one son, Kobei, and one daughter, Imani. Rob also has two daughters, Britley and Destiny.  Rob is a US Navy veteran, earning multiple commendations during his seven years in service.  He is now enrolled at Shorter College in Atlanta, while working at The Village Vets.  His interests include all sports.  Robert worked with Dr. Draper at his former employer in Tucker, GA back in the mid '90s.

Why he does this: Rob said he has loved animals all his life and says that The Village Vets is the perfect place for him to show it and give back.

Eva Petrics, RVT

Eva was born in Virginia and moved to Atlanta in 1999.  She has three brothers and loves hanging out with them, friends and her dog and cats.  Her hobbies include exercising and watching movies.  Eva earned a BA in Psychology and later turned her career goals towards animal care.

She is now a Registered Veterinary Technician.  Eva is the proud owner of 4 rescue pets - the most recent addition, "Joy", a pit bull mix

Why she does this: "I have loved animals since I was little".

Malantha Tinsley, RVT

Malantha  was born in Tacoma, WA and moved to the Atlanta area in 1998.  Malantha has a daughter who is 5 years old, and residing with them is her younger sister and nephew.  Malantha said she enjoys being outdoors and spending time with her family.    Before turning her career goals toward animal care she worked in various other industries, inspired by her “thirst for knowledge”.  Malantha has a dog “Tillamook”, a Siberian Husky.

Why she does this: "I have always had a love of animals and a natural affinity to want to care for them.".

Jacquelyn Charleston

"Jackie" is a native of Georgia and enjoys spending time with friends and family. She is an alumni of Fort Valley State College and University, where she concentrated her studies . in Veterinary Technology. She is currently pursuing a degree in English Literature and Creative Writing. Jackie is the proud owner of three dogs: JoJo, Keiko and Buddy.

Why she does this: "I truly enjoy and care for animals.".

Leslie Mitchell

A native of Birmingham, AL, Leslie moved to the Atlanta area in 2000 and attended Emory University, in which she  graduated from in 2003 with a Bachelor’s degree in Biology.  She lives in Oakhurst with her husband, Lamar, and their three dogs, “Tate” – a Manchester Terrier, “Bella” – a Cirneco dell’ ‘Etna and "Sam", a pit bull mix.  Leslie also has a horse named “Remi”.   Leslie enjoys horseback riding, gardening, painting, reading and rescuing stray dogs.

Why she does this:  Leslie says she enjoys working with animals because  “they are amusing and I enjoy their companionship”

Lauren Henderson

Lauren  is a native of Long Island, NY.  She now resides in the Atlanta area with her parents and older sister.  Living with them are Lauren's 3 horses, 2 cats, 1 dog and 2 birds.  Lauren said she enjoys horseback riding, scuba diving, ballroom dancing and watching old movies.  Lauren is currently majoring in Biology at Agnes Scott College in Decatur.

Why she does this:   "I like working at The Village Vets because the team of people I work with makes a great job even more amazing".

Dianna Eichorn, LVT

Dianna grew up in Warren, MI - where her parents and one sister- along with her niece- still reside. After first living in North Carolina for two years. she moved to Decatur, GA in March 2010 and lives with her boyfriend, Adrian and their 1 dog, "Benny" and three cats, "Thomas", "Doc", and "Girl". Dianna enjoys camping, hiking, going to the zoo, watching movies and exploring Atlanta. She attended community college in Clinton Township, MI and earned an Associate of Applied Science in Veterinary Technology. The Village Vets is the third AAHA veterinary hospital she has worked.

Why she does this: "I've always loved animals, but didn't have pets growing up. I chose a career working with and helping animals because we are their voice and they love us unconditionally".
