Dr. Edison was born and raised in New York City. She attended Vanderbilt University and moved to Atlanta shortly after. After working as a horse trainer and then computer programmer, she decided to pursue her lifelong dream of becoming a veterinarian and graduated from the University of Georgia in 2003. She worked in Buckhead for four years before joining The Village Vets in October, 2007.

Laura and her husband, Mike Boardman, have two daughters, Audrey (8/04) and Eliza (8/06). They also have two dogs, Henry and Elvis, and two crazy white cats, Luna and Rico.

Dr. Edison is conversant in Spanish and in her free time, she enjoys spending time with her family and friends. She loves field trips around Atalna with the kids, traveling, horseback riding and reading.
